Our Identity

Who We Are

The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association® (CVMA®) is a non-profit organization of veterans who share a passion for motorcycling and a deep commitment to supporting one another and our fellow veterans in the community. Our motto, “Vets Helping Vets,” guides everything we do.


Chapter IL 24-3 — the Midwest Misfits — is headquartered in the Metro East Illinois / St. Louis area. Our ranks include men and women who have answered the call to serve their country, from Vietnam to the Global War on Terror.


Membership Categories

Full Members — Combat veterans who served in a combat zone. These individuals form the core of the CVMA® and carry full voting rights and chapter leadership eligibility.


Supporter Members — Veterans who served honorably in non-combat military service and who demonstrate a strong dedication to helping veterans and supporting the CVMA® mission.


Auxiliary Members — Spouses of Full Members and Supporter Members who wish to actively support the chapter’s mission.

Our mission is to foster camaraderie among combat veterans, support veterans in need within our communities, and honor the service and sacrifice of all who have worn the uniform. We live by our motto — Vets Helping Vets — ensuring that no veteran or service member, or their family, is ever forgotten or left behind.
